I got this recipe from my dear friend Susan when the boys were small and I’ve served it to countless people over the years, they’ve all loved it. It’s easy to make and I often double it because it goes so quickly. I just sent 4 jars home with the boys’ friends when they spent the night after a concert. This makes a great quick breakfast, a snack, or after dinner dessert with milk. Let me know what you think.


Ingredients

  • 3 Cups
    Organic Oats
  • 1 Cup
    Organic Oat Bran
  • 1/2 Cup
    Pumpkin Seeds
  • 1/2 Cup
    Sunflower Seeds
  • 1 Cup
    Chopped Walnuts
  • 1/4 Cup
    Sesame Seeds
  • 1/4 Cup
    Flax Seeds
  • 1 Teaspoon
    Cinnamon
  • 1 Tablespoon
    Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 Cup
    Flax Oil
  • 1/4 Cup
    Real Maple Syrup
  • 1 Cup
    Organic Raisins

Instructions

  1. Assemble your ingredients.

    Oats, nuts, seeds, oat bran, vanilla, flax oil, real maple syrup.
  2. Chop your walnuts, or I actually used pecans this time.

  3. Mix all the dry ingredients in a big bowl.

    Dry Ingredients, oats, oat bran, nuts, seeds, cinnamon.
  4. Mix the wet ingredients.

  5. Mix it all together.

    All mixed together
  6. Bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes, stirring halfway through.

  7. Let cool and add raisins.

  8. Ready to EAT!

  9. Once fully cool package it up and store it in the fridge if you can get it put away before half of it is gone.

  10. There are a million variations you can make on this recipe:

    Add coconut
    Substitue cranberries for rasins
    Change the nuts around
    Add ginger
    Substitute dried chopped mango for the raisins
    You get the idea.

Nutrition: Where do I start? B vitamins in the whole grains, omega 3 fatty acids in the in flax seeds and flax oil, a wonderful assortment of fiber, nuts, seeds and just a touch of real maple syrup. This is an eat anytime and as much as you want treat.
