Put these on the table when friends come over and they’ll disappear (the nuts not the friends).
Preheat oven to 350º F
Spread almonds on a baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes.
In a large bowl, stir together tamari and maple syrup. Add hot almonds and stir until well coated. Let stand, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes.
Return almonds to baking sheet with a slotted spoon, spreading them evenly.
Bake almonds, stir after about 10 minutes, continue baking until almonds are dark brown outside and golden inside, about 25 minutes.
Cool almonds completely (about 20 minutes) then transfer to an airtight container.
